The owners recognised the value of this 5 acre plot of relatively flat land in Samford. With sensational mountain views in many directions their dream of a modern classic Queenslander was developed in concert with Garth Chapman Queenslanders designer Kevin Hincksman.
The owners brief was captured and enhanced into a home that exudes details and finishes in a sophisticated but uncluttered manner. The beauty of a home that contains such beautiful detail is that it doesn’t rely on the furnishings, which many modern homes do, to provide the home with style. Rather the owners’ furnishings simply magnify the quality of the home and the satisfaction of the owners living experience.
The Hampton’s influenced Kitchen styling is the centre point of the home. From here all the main living areas of the home are visible and interaction is possible. The kitchen also features a large walk in butler’s style pantry and a window servery to the rear entertaining verandah, which overlooks the pool.
The linkage of the main entertaining area with internal living spaces is an important design feature that is integrated into all Garth Chapman homes. The ability to use these spaces in most weather conditions adds immensely to the living experience of the home owner and their family. The verandahs add immensely to the aethetic look and function of a home of this style and calibre.

The ensuite styling and finishes was an important part of the client’s focal point. Storage, lighting, timber framed mirrors, large open walk-in shower stone bench tops have all been brought together by the design and construction team to reflect the client’s vision.
The children’s bedrooms are individualised, light and playful. The detail in construction and the owner’s complimentary furnishings indicates value in these spaces.
The more formal living area is adjacent to the entry and meals room. The colourful furnishings again compliment the construction detailing and beautiful timber flooring.
The main bathroom carries thru the theme created in the Ensuite; stylish, simple and practical.
A fun dedicated children’s play room with built in seat / toy box provides a space that encourages imaginative free play. It reduces the stress of parent’s worried about toys normally spread across the lounge.
The main living area features a beautiful in built fireplace with TV above. Built in cabinetry either side provides great storage and a homely feel. The timber flooring throughout all the living areas and hallways is select grade 130mm wide “Roaster Peat” boards. White painted multi-light timber joinery throughout the home provides a casual coastal feel to the country home.
Resort style living to the rear of the home is the pool and dedicated pool house. This features its own kitchenette, bathroom, bedroom, laundry, and living space. Great for housing relatives and friends that come to stay.
